Meet Jo
I’m known for being professional, reliable and efficient
but I’ve also been told I’m quite funny.
If you can’t have a few laughs along the way in this small business world, it’s not worth being in it, is it?
Where I came from
I started my career as a receptionist and then as a personal secretary before moving to Australia from New Zealand. Here I have worked in Government and with small businesses, including industry, tourism and trade. I worked in various roles and ended up within IT as a trainer & assessor and then as an IT Manager looking after as many as four departmental agencies at any one time.
Working with small businesses for a few years before starting my own business, I saw first-hand the many hats business owners needed to juggle, whether it be just them or a small staff.

Why I started my business
Around six years ago, a friend suggested that I start my own business, and I thought, why not? When my children were younger, returning to work and having the flexibility to work around a growing family really appealed to me.
I sat down and wrote out all the skills I had accumulated over the years, worked out which ones I didn’t want to do and launched.
Now that I’m further down the track, I’ve refined my skillset and know who I want to work with. I networked locally and made many connections via social media channels, offering helpful advice and showing up regularly.
I loved sharing my own stories and having some laughs with like-minded people. I made some great friends and ‘virtual colleagues’, many I still collaborate with.
I knew I could make a difference in small businesses by providing them with affordable support.
My values are simple:
- Trustworthiness and Reliability – I care about my reputation and strive to be the best I can be.
- Honesty and Integrity – I treat your business as if it were my own.
- Hardworking and Kindness – I work hard to ensure I deliver the best service to both customers and clients.
Going back to basics of good old-fashioned customer service is what I am about…I do what I say I’m going to do in the most efficient way possible for my clients on a regular basis.
I’m quick to respond and actually make things happen.
When I’m not working
I am a loving wife and busy mum to 2 teenage children. Supporting my family is important to me.
When I’m not volunteering with my children’s extracurricular activities (think soccer and Girl Guide mum), you’ll find me relaxing at home reading novels and business-related books and watching reality TV shows. Of course, I can’t go past Street Outlaws or Survivor; or Netflix – The Crown, Grace & Frankie, Schitt$ Creek and Dream Home Makeover are a few of my favs.
I also love concerts. P!NK is my favourite singer, and I loved Maroon 5 when they came to Brisbane. Stage shows are always special; my favourites were Mrs Brown’s Boys, Jersey Boys and Grease.
My family love camping in our van ‘Nelly’ (as in nearly done LOL), especially near a beach.
